Mid-Week Report (Virginia Tech)

The Hokies ran their nonconference home winning streak to 21 games after thrashing Marshall 41-14 last weekend. Backup running back Brandon Ore stepped in and rushed for 146 yards and a touchdown against the Thundering Herd. Halfway through the season now, ESPN has put quarterback Marcus Vick among its candidates for Heisman Trophy consideration. On its website,  ESPN has Vick among its 12 choices. Vick is the only ACC player on the list.
