Mid-Week Report (Virginia Tech)

by Joe Johnson
Oct 6, 2005

Running back Mike Imoh will get a break to rest his sprained ankle this weekend. Coach Frank Beamer said Imoh will not play this weekend against Marshall in the Hokies' homecoming game. The extra week off, in conjunction with next week's open date, should mean that Imoh is back to full strength when Virginia Tech plays on Oct. 20 against Maryland. That game is the Thursday night national game and will be another showcase for the Hokies.

Imoh also has been slowed by a balky knee and only has 254 yards on 63 carries this season. Cedric Humes leads the Hokies with 267 yards on 58 carries and will shoulder most of the load against Marshall this week. Humes had 71 yards on 12 carries in the last game against West Virginia.
