Virginia Tech Pre-Game Notes

Thanks to Hurricane Rita, more attention will be on today's game against Georgia Tech. ESPN's Game Day will be in Blacksburg for its second straight weekend in ACC country. That's pretty good for a team better known for its basketball, or so a lot of people around the country think. Game Day puts the spotlight on the campus it is visiting and on the conference. The show originally was scheduled to be in Baton Rouge, La., but the storm pushed the Tennessee-LSU game to Monday night.

The stakes are high for Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech. It's been 15 years since the Yellow Jackets started a season 4-0. And for Virginia Tech, a win would almost put it on easy street to get ready for the the ACC title game in Jacksonville, Fla. The Hokies are heading to a Nov. 5 showdown with Miami, which was the way it was during their Big East days. Now that rivalry is a staple for the ACC.
