Mid-Week Report (Florida State)

by Joe Johnson
Oct 6, 2005

In an interview with the Tallahassee Democrat, Florida State coach Bobby Bowden said he is happy to finally have some questions answered about his 4-0 team. Going into the season, Bowden said he was concerned about the quarterback position with two inexperienced players. Also, his receiving corps was up in the air.

Defensively, the defensive line lacked depth. But after four wins, Drew Weatherford has solidified his status as starter. Backup Xavier Lee isn't happy, but that is just competitive nature. The receivers were catching passes in practice but Bowden knows that practice isn't the same thing as in games. So far 6-foot-6 freshman Greg Carr and done a wonderful job. Defensively, the Seminoles have enough talent and they have avoided injuries.
