Florida State Takin' It Easy

by Joe Johnson
Sep 27, 2005

Florida State has been able to take it easy since beating Boston College more than a week ago. That's not good news for the rest of the ACC and Syracuse. When the Orange come to town, FSU will be well rested and ready to make a push to Jacksonville and another ACC title. The only ranked team left between Florida State and the end of the season is Virginia and the Cavaliers have their own problems before hosting the Seminoles on Oct. 15. Florida State was left to practice against itself for the last week because of an open date and that has helped the offense.

FSU's defense has been way ahead of the offense, but now maybe Drew Weatherford finally is getting the hang of it. At practice on Monday, the offense was able to punch it in four times in a goal line situation drill Coach Bobby Bowden likes to practice at the end of the day. The success the offense had may mean the Seminoles are getting a little tougher on offense and could be in the early stages of developing some swagger.
