Mid-Week Report (Boston College)
by Joe Johnson
Protecting the quarterback has been a hallmark for the offensive line so far this season. Boston College has allowed only four sacks in five games. Not that any game is predictable, but with Virginia coming in as a team that hasn't been able to get to the quarterback often, BC quarterback Matthew Ryan shouldn't be bothered too much. Virginia has eight sacks and that ranks it ninth in the ACC. One reason the Eagles have been proficient at protecting their quarterback is their mammoth offensive line. Boston College averages more than 315 pounds across the front and center Patrick Ross is the lightweight at 298 pounds. |
